A wave of jubilation swept through St. Louis today as Bernie Federko, the iconic Hall of Famer and first player in Blues history to reach 1,000 career points, officially returns to the St. Louis Blues — this time, not as a player, but as a Senior Coaching Advisor.
The legendary center, who tallied an impressive 1,073 points (352 goals, 721 assists) during his storied career with the Blues, was greeted with standing ovations and roaring cheers at Enterprise Center as fans welcomed back one of the most beloved figures in franchise history.
Federko, whose number 24 was retired by the team in 1991 and who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002, expressed deep gratitude and excitement about rejoining the organization:
> “This team means everything to me. I’m honored to help guide the next generation of Blues talent and be part of a new chapter in this club’s great legacy.”
Blues President of Hockey Operations also hailed the move, calling Federko’s return a “homecoming of heart, skill, and history.”
Federko’s new role will see him working closely with coaching staff and player development personnel, sharing insights from his decades of elite NHL experience to shape the future of the team he helped build.
St. Louis is buzzing — and with a legend like Bernie Federko back on board, the future looks bluer — and brighter — than ever.
